How to add a cloud account

Northlight Vault connects to Google Drive, OneDrive, and Dropbox. You can add as many accounts as you need — including multiple accounts of the same type.

Open Northlight Vault.

In the left sidebar, click Add Account.

Select the service you want to connect: Google Drive, OneDrive, or Dropbox.

A browser window will open asking you to sign in and grant Vault permission to browse your files. Sign in with the account you want to add.

Once authorized, the account will appear in your sidebar and your files will be ready to browse.

Tip

You can add multiple Google Drive accounts — for example, a personal Drive and a work Drive — and browse them side by side in the same app.

How to remove an account

Removing an account disconnects it from Vault. Your files are not deleted — they remain in your cloud storage. Vault simply stops displaying them.

In the left sidebar, find the account you want to remove.

Right-click the account name and select Remove Account.

Confirm when prompted. The account is removed from Vault immediately.

Note

Removing an account from Vault does not delete your files or cancel your cloud storage subscription. It only disconnects that account from the Vault interface.

How to open a file

Vault displays your files but opens them in their native app or your browser — whichever is the right tool for that file type.

Find the file you want to open — either by browsing folders or using the search bar.

Click the Open button on the right side of the file row.

The file will open in your browser or the appropriate app on your computer.

Important

Click the Open button — not the file name. Clicking the file name selects or previews the file within Vault. The Open button is what launches it in your browser or app.

In the Vault menu bar, click Help.

Select About.

Click Feedback to open the feedback form.

Fill in your feedback — bug report, feature request, or general comment — and submit. You'll hear back at the email you provide.
